Here stands a salutory lesson on the folly of cost cutting in business, the practice of which so often proves to be founded on false economy. Melbourne’s try at having an ‘eye’ was constructed in such a way that when we reached a certain temperature in the heat of summer last year, components failed and the wheel had to be shut down. Sure the temperature reached the mid 40′s (centigrade) but that is not an unknown or unanticipated scenario. The wheel was only in operation for a few months and businesses that had been established around it to cater for the anticipated tourist traffic were understandably upset (to put it mildly). At the moment the wheel is being dismantled to be ‘fixed’

Did you know about the “Millenium Bridge” in London Cam? After the Queen opened it, it stayed open for an hour while people were falling about because of way too much movement, then it was closed for rebuilding. The designer blamed the droll London people and their slow methodical steps….

First of all, thanks for all the videos you posted on youtube re: bbf. They were so convincing that I recently bought one myself and absolutely enjoyed taking photos with it and having strangers come and ask me what was dangling around my neck. However, when I processed the film, all I got was blanks with three sporadic “decent” photos.
Do you have any ideas?

PS: I used 400iso film and the lens cap was off. I changed settings to suit the conditions (sunny/cloudy).
Hi Jo, I am not sure what may be happening with your blank photos. considering that the lens cap was off, you used iso 400 film and used the aperture settings according to conditions, the only thing I can think of is that the shutter may not be opening properly every time. You can check this by looking through the lens from the back of the camera and releasing the shutter several times to see if it is opening each time. When I first used the camera I sometimes thought I had released the shutter but hadn’t pushed the release down fully. Good luck!
