Headstones

August 22, 2007

Here are some headstones I photographed yesterday with the Sputnik whilst walking through a cemetery (well, I suppose that's probably stating the obvious) in the inner city. It was so peaceful there. I have never photographed in a cemetery before, but the rows of headstones made for good compositional material for the stereo camera. There was a beautiful tree sitting behind this particular group of graves and their attending headstones, which I hope shows somewhat in this image.

The sputnik's optics aren't really that crisp, I suppose if they were, the camera wouldn't be suited for the plastic lens pages, but it's sort of ironic because any stereo photography text will tell you how important it is to have crisp infocus images! Oh well...I'll let my audience be the judge. If you have 3D glasses, please view the 3D version (that is a link) of this image.

I've got to dig up some of those 3-D glasses to look at these properly. These are so cool.

I love grave yards...I see them as sanctuary...always peaceful..no-one bothers you, perfect. Love the image and am trying to track down glasses as we speak!
