Distressed Hand Dryer Head

July 25, 2007

In Dandenong (an outer "satellite" town/suburb of Melbourne), there is a toilet block with interesting sculptures decorating the front of the block. One is of a fellow with a hand-dryer unit instead of a head.
On taking the photo with a dodgy (and now retired) SX-70 camera, the film got stuck 3/4 of the way out of the rollers. That and the expired film has given the finished image a rather surreal appearance bordering on abstract impressionism.

Camera: SX-70 (dodgy) Film: expired SX-70 Time Zero

this is very cool, aren't you just scratching your head at times about how cameras and film do their own thing?

Wow. Love this, Cameron. Happy accident indeed. Too bad the camera's retired.

I have always been a fan or de kooning, Pollock and Rothko....worthy of any of them!

That's amazing. Fantastic results, really surreal and very, very cool.
