Shattered Gothic

August 27, 2007

Taken during my short stay in the township of Talbot, during June, whilst the Daylesford Foto Biennale was happening, this church front stands with shattered windows and wonderfully aged facade, whilst behind all this, rebuilding was taking place, in a style quite incongruous with the Gothic frontage. I suppose the parish funds may not have covered the kind of architectural indulgence needed to match the whole structure that way!
In other news I have been getting some more prints framed (thanks Winston!) - one for an exhibition later this year and one for home. I have been running around a bit madly, but tomorrow I will go for a relaxing walk in the forest with my wife before returning to work.

it's perfect, cam. in some way i'm glad they didn't have a "building fund". enjoy your walk and make sure to hold hands :-)

So, so marvelous. Love the perspective, and that blue cast really adds to the mood.

Thanks all, I really liked this church facade, it had a lot of character.
