Buckle Shoes, Striped Socks, Yellow Slide

April 5, 2007

Taken earlier this week I'm sort of surprised this came out at all, as it was an overcast day and with 160 speed film in the camera I was being hopeful. Just goes to show!
A note on the composition of this shot ~ I would like to say that I carefully planned to have this shot as is, revealing just the legs anticipating a whole child whizzing down the slide (I love the plastic yellow of this slide) with the nicely blurred background revealing more children happily playing on the other playground equipment. I would like to, but the reality is that I am still getting used to the discrepancy between what I see in the viewfinder and what appears on the film with this particular camera! Having said that, if I did get what I thought I was getting I'm sure this image wouldn't have been half as interesting! It's all part of the fun of shooting with plastic fantastics!

bless your heart! ;-) i don't know of anyone who could say in all honesty that they "planned it that way" with a plastic camera. i'm happy the way this turned out. it sort of inspires me to go out on an overcast day... well, maybe ;-)

Thanks Meredith! I really like using the Kodak Vivid Colour film for a change sometimes, as it really comes into it's own with shots like this.

Ooooh! I love the yellow slide too! Composition is right on, and makes me want to play with the kids! Great one.

Thanks Becky! I always feel like playing on the playground equipment too, but the "other kids" always look at me funny (besides I might break something, either the equipment or my bones!)
