Church and City at Night

October 15, 2007

More scans from the new Diana, this is an extended exposure of approx 35 sec with the camera on a tripod, showing St.Paul's Cathedral in Melbourne and one of Melbourne's skyscrapers in the background...
I didn't use the little plastic tag thingy that jams in the shutter release slot (which is a simple, yet effective idea for really long exposures, but a bit fiddly)

The fuzziness around the edges draws my eye to the central area of the cathedral. It turned out beautiful.

Great job on the exposure! I like how the buildings seem like they're layered.

If you're going to use a tripod you have to have something in focus. I like the composition, but the fact that this is a 35 second exposure and out of focus doesn't do anything for me. This could have been shot hand held and produced the same results.

Dear Plastic Lenser,
I was wrong before. After exploring your site, I realize I misunderstood your objectives and your equipment. You have done a fine job here. I hope you'll forgive me and assist my learning by critiquing my site as well.

The Cathedral is such a beautiful building.
I love how soft and warm it looks in contrast to the inky might sky and office buildings.
