We Are Not Really Here v.2

June 30, 2007

Somewhere between dreams, mythological creatures and Jungian archetypes, with a dash of just plain silliness thrown in, there lies a land of "not really here"
When a friend found a couple of skulls for me to play with (I don't really play with skulls, he just knew I liked to photograph weird things, hence all my self portraits), my thoughts turned to how I could use them in a photographic compositions. The solutions here are not really that original, but the expired polaroid film gives the final results a certain uniqueness that might otherwise have required some degree of post-processing (as seen in Kevin's excellent work with Polaroids) which is far superior than what I could hope to obtain with my polas.

This shot taken with a Polaroid SX-70 camera with self-timer. Expired Polaroid SX-70 integral film.
