o-O!

March 19, 2007

These metal ring sculptures can be found at Docklands Park. They are just two of many of different sizes and sit around and near the base of the kinetic sculpture The Blowhole.
You can see from the state of the grass how little rain we have had in the city lately, even the normally verdant hills where I live have been suffering from the drought.
Coming back to the sculptures themselves, I dont know the artist or what they are titled, but really like these works of public art, I was wandering around them for quite a while before finding a point of view I liked to capture this shot with my Diana and Fuji NPC 160.
This shot is also part of the collection at File Magazine. Prints available at RedBubble.

great composition. I walked right past those things and didn't even bat an eye at them.. well I might have shrugged at them on the way..

I did grab the cow in tree though. Nothing special, but I'll post it up one day

Thank you Phil, Don and Angie, I appreciate the feedback, Phil the NPC is really nice film, I'm not sure how it would fare in less than sunny conditions though.
Don, the first couple of times I have visited this park, I considered taking shots of these rings, but the aqua boarding wasn't behind them, just a sort of wasteland and the scene just didn't do anything for me. This time however, once I got the right POV, it all just seemed to click, so I did too! P.S. I love your B&W Don, but what's to stop you carrying a second crappy cam with your kit loaded with colour (God knows they're light enough!)

Angie, I think I've been really lucky with most of my plastic cams. The gods of toyphotography must be watching over me!
