Agapantha Pod Pinhole

February 15, 2008

I took out my Holga Pinhole with the Polaroid back attached today. I haven't been feeling 100% in the last few days (typically, my days off) - so have not photographed anything , which is a bit of a big deal for me, so I made the effort to at least try something today, before I have to go back to work.
I'm happy I did, as this particular pinhole has a certain quality about it I like. An approximately 90 second exposure in indirect late afternoon lighting, the pod of the Agapantha light-painted using a strong torch.

Camera: Pinhole Holga and Polaroidback    Film: Polaroid 89
*Please note! As my friend from Polanoid, Scott has pointed out, Polaroid have announced they are ceasing production of all their instant films by the end of next year. I have also talked about this in the "words" part of ThePlasticLens here. If you, like Scott, myself and many others have any sort of fondness or nostalgia for Polaroid photography, please sign the online petition here: Petition Polaroid

beautiful!

you may not know, but polaroid is ceasing production on all of their film. by the end of next year, it'll be all gone.

they are looking for someone to purchase the rights to make the film, however, which i think has a strong chance of happening since there are about 30 million of us out there that use the film.

so there's a petition now that will hopefully do one of two things:

make polaroid corporate reverse their decision (probably not) or make a smaller specialty company realize there is a market for polaroid film (possible).

but we need signatures. lots of signatures.

help keep this art form alive and prosperous for years to come!

thanks.

Thank you everyone for your comments. The good news is that Polaroid/Petters probably would allow another company to license the technology (if the price is right no doubt)
