From a wander around town last week with my brother. Taken in a side alley around from the well-known Hosier Lane, which has a veritable plethora of graffiti and stencil art textures on almost every surface.

Mum and the Gum Tree

Dad planted this gum tree around about the time I was born. Yes it's that old! It's grown quite a bit taller than I have however. Mum loves this tree, she joked recently that a falling limb from it will probably take her out one day and that would be fine by her. Personally I think both the tree and her will outlast everyone.

Pinhole Rose

It's the day after worldwide pinhole photography day and I have had the roll from my Zero Image 2000 developed by our friendly local (relatively local) lab! This is one from reasonably late in the day, taken against the backdrop of our kitchen wall. It's the old dead rose thing again, but I like the lighting in this one, a lot. About a 3 minute exposure here, with makeshift illumination. I have still to finish the Diana + roll, but have some Polaroid Pinholga shots to scan, so you may see some of them too. I hope everyone had a productive pinhole day - if you would like to see how the family helped me spend this years pinhole day look at World Pinhole Day Family Fun, a Short Video

Wedding Couple Fed Square

Another from the same batch as the previous image. I did not know these two lovely people but they kindly posed for my plastic camera before moving on for their professional wedding shots. The negative had a few scratches and 'developing artifacts' as I like to call them on it. Sort of adds a bit of a distressed look to the image...

They are everywhere. The colour shift with this film was quite strange. This was taken with my Diana F+ 'pimped' with a ringflash attached. Just because I could!

Blurry Girl

I really need to chenge the php in this photoblog so that it asks me if I'm sure when I try and upload a file that has the same name as a pre-existing file on the site, in this case 'Girl' - as it will get a bit confused and bring the pre-existing image's description to the current post date but with the new, same-named image. Oh well. I'm not even sure if I'm good enough to hack Donald's coding to do that, but one day when I get the time I'll have a go at it.

Here is the (now) re-named Girl in a blurry sort of mood. The previous girl is the same girl, but from over a year ago, in black & white and not captured by a pinhole camera. Does any of this make sense?

My youngest looking a bit pensive ~ I'm sure it has nothing to do with her dad pointing weird looking old cameras at her all the time!

Taken with the Empire Junior with a polaroid close-up lens filter held in front. Film: C-41 process B & W stuff.

Dumpster Abstract

I'm between a 'Late' shift and an 'Early' shift, trying to catch up with stuff and scan negatives and the wife wants me to come to bed and I suppose I should because it is late...
Here's one I captured the other day, the side of a metal dumpster, in the city when I met with a few like minded Melbourne flickr group photo people for a photo walk.
