The white trunk of this gum against the rust red of the Devils’s marbles and the clear blue sky just jumped out at me whilst I was wandering around this fascinating area in the Northern Territory. Thankfully my vision of what this might look like taken with my plastic camera was rewarded by a nice capture on film. The feel and look of this shot is very different from the previous Northern territory photograph, that of the Kantju Gorge at Uluru which I predominantly put down to the different film used. This shot was taken with Fuji 400 speed film and the Kantju Gorge image was with Agfa XPS 160, which dealt with colour very, very differently, the skies and lighting were different for the Kantju Gorge shot too, but I think the film was the main difference. I wish I had actually taken more rolls of the Agfa, as I really like the amazing colour obtained from that roll, but there’s always next time!
